Serbia: New Customs Measures Decree

The Government of Serbia adopted a new “Decree on terms and manner of application of customs measures for the protection of IP rights” which shall enter into force on January 1, 2011(Official Gazette of Republic of Serbia, No. 86/2010). However, all pending procedures shall end under the provisions of the old decree. Customs measures requests adopted under the old decree remain in force until their expiration date and represent the basis for conducting customs measures under the new decree.

New legislation on Trademarks, Industrial Design and Topography of Integrated Circuits came into force on December 24, 2009. The possibility of filing an appeal in Trademark and Industrial Design matters has been introduced in the procedure before the IP Office of Serbia. New "Law on Protection of Rights of Breeders of Plant Varieties"

“The Law on Protection of Rights of Breeders of Plant Varieties” was adopted by the Serbian Parliament and came into force on June 10, 2009.
